Sportswear retailer Pink Sportswears is making a bold statement about its new plus size offering: you can wear it to a gym.
Pink Sportswashes founder, Rebecca Brown, made the announcement on Instagram, where she shared a photo of herself in a pink sport shirt, plus size workout gear and her workout plan.
“For me, I like being active, so my workouts have always been in my size,” she said.
“So this new plus sizing is a new way to take advantage of the benefits of being active and fit.”
Pinkspace, the retail outlet that Brown operates, is a brand that Brown co-founded with former fitness and wellness coach and trainer Erin Egan in 2013.
Brown has previously worked for Adidas, Nike and the now-defunct Gap.
She launched Pink SportSwear in August.
Petsmart is the retailer Brown worked with to launch the plus size business, which launched in 2016.
The company launched its plus size apparel business in January 2018, and in February, it announced that it had partnered with Bottega Veneta to bring its plus sizes clothing line to stores.
In a statement, Bottegas Veneta said that it was “excited to welcome Pink Sport Swear to the Bottegas Veneta family of retailers.”
PetsMart has been a partner of Pink Sport SWear since its inception, and Brown has remained involved with the business.
She said the new plus sizes business was a natural fit for the company.
It’s a bold step in the right direction for Pink SportSWear, which aims to make a statement about what it means to be a plus-sized woman in the modern world.
