Cristiano Cristiano’s team-mates are going to be disappointed not to have had the Portuguese captain in the team at Euro 2016.
After all, the Portugal legend scored five goals against Germany on the opening day of the tournament in Nice, but the striker only managed a single goal against Italy on Saturday night.
The news has already been widely reported in Portuguese media, with the BBC’s Adrian Healey and ESPN’s Adam Bate reporting that the 23-year-old was a massive disappointment for his side.
His only contribution was an assist for Portugal’s first goal, while his second effort was blocked.
“I’m really disappointed because I really wanted to play.
I had a great tournament,” Ronaldo told Portuguese television station Telecinco.
“We didn’t score anything.
I thought we played well, but it’s not like that.”
Portugal will play Spain in the last 16 on Tuesday, and Ronaldo will be hoping to continue his fine form on the road to the final.
